Pasadena Independent School District

Pasadena Independent School District began as a one-room school house in 1868,  and it has become a large urban district employing over 7,200 employees and serving approximately 54,000 students in 63 schools including the new Career and Technology High School, opening in Pasadena’s Genoa-Red Bluff area in August 2014. The district covers portions of Pasadena, South Houston, Houston and Pearland and offers area residents 35 elementary, 10 intermediate, five high schools and two schools of choice and two alternative campuses.

The mission of Pasadena ISD, the gateway to unlimited opportunity for the youth of our culturally rich community, is to empower students to become accomplished, self-directed, and collaborative citizen-scholars who boldly contribute to an increasingly complex and evolving world by engaging in rigorous curriculum, relevant experiences, and positive relationships while embracing the uniqueness of each individual.
